Authentic Taco Spot in LaGrange: Mexican Tradition at Casa Pirul
Authentic Taco Spot: A Taste of Mexico at Casa Pirul
The first clue to recognize a good taco is the tortilla: Casa Pirul’s Street Style tacos come on corn tortillas with onions, cilantro, lime, and your choice of our family salsa verde or roja. Then comes the filling, with options ranging from carne asada and carnitas to al pastor, chorizo, lengua, chicken, and birria.

That wide variety is part of what makes Casa Pirul an authentic taco spot. We keep some combinations close to traditional Mexican street food, while giving you enough choices to find a favorite or try something completely different the next time you visit.
Start With the Street-Style Favorites
There is a reason street-style tacos remain such a recognizable part of Mexican food. The format is simple, but every ingredient has a job to do.
Carne asada brings grilled beef to the corn tortilla, while carnitas provide tender pork. Al pastor adds a seasoned pork option, and chorizo brings a bolder, spiced flavor. Chicken keeps things straightforward, while lengua gives more adventurous diners a chance to try a classic Mexican filling.
Then there is birria, with its tender, richly seasoned meat. Add onions, cilantro, a squeeze of lime, and either our salsa verde or roja, and the result is a taco built around contrast rather than a long list of toppings.
You can order two or three, depending on your appetite, and mix your fillings to turn one meal into a small tour of different flavors.
Beyond the Corn Tortilla
Not every taco craving calls for the same style. Our Tex-Mex options come on soft flour tortillas or crunchy shells with lettuce and cheese, with choices including ground beef, shredded chicken, grilled tilapia, and grilled shrimp.
That gives families and groups plenty of flexibility at the same table. Someone can stick with a familiar ground beef taco while someone else tries grilled seafood or one of our street-style specialties.
For a different take, quesabirrias combine three corn tortillas with birria, melted cheese, cilantro, and raw onions. We serve them with rice, beans, and homemade consommé, so dipping each bite into the broth becomes part of the meal.
Authentic Mexican Food Made for Sharing
Tacos may be the starting point, but Casa Pirul’s menu gives you many ways to build a larger meal around them.
You can begin with chunky guacamole, street corn, or one of our cheese dips. The Street Corn comes with chamoy, mayo, cheese, and Tajín, bringing a combination of sweet, creamy, tangy, and spicy flavors to the table.
For a bigger dinner, our Mexican fajitas arrive on a hot skillet with steak or grilled chicken, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes, accompanied by rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
Seafood lovers can explore our Abajo del Mar section with ceviche tostadas, shrimp cocktail, Camarones a la Diabla, or whole fried tilapia.

Family Story is Key to Authenticity
Food tastes different when there is a story behind it. At Casa Pirul, our recipes are connected to family meals, childhood memories, and the warmth of gathering around our grandparents' table.
With that in mind, our goal is to create a place where you can come with family, meet friends for dinner, celebrate a special occasion, or simply sit down for a meal that feels familiar. We built Casa Pirul around sharing stories, laughter, and food together.
That is also why our taco menu has room for both tradition and personal preference. You can keep it simple with carne asada and salsa roja, try birria with homemade consommé, or switch things up with grilled shrimp.

At Casa Pirul, being an authentic taco spot is about more than putting a tortilla on a plate. It is about the flavors we grew up with, the recipes we continue to share, and the people we get to welcome around our table.
